Villa Geno – Como: The old goes magic
Alyssa and Will chose to be married on Lake Como (at Villa Geno) because of its beauty, serenity, and classic elegance. They had visited Lake Como as a couple in the past and were excited to share one of their favorite travel destinations with friends and family. The couple spent the week leading up to the wedding exploring the many towns on the lake and had their welcome dinner for their guests in Cernobbio.
Alyssa and Will started their wedding day with a private boat tour to Villa Balbianello for photos. They then had their ceremony and reception at Villa Geno in Como. Villa Geno is a beautiful 18th century villa with luscious gardens, stunning views of the lake, and the famous Como fountain.
A pizza cart, gelato bar, specialty drinks, and a three course meal kept their friends and family happy all night. Music and dancing lasted late into the night under the light of outdoor chandeliers. It was a perfect night of Italian romance!
In my opinion, Alyssa and Will have chosen the right compromise by dedicating a few hours to a photo shoot in a beautiful location (Villa del Balbianello) and then enjoying the party in a carefree manner, getting captured in a spontaneous and natural way.
Often, my couples (especially men) are afraid of having to spend a lot of time posing. In reality, I always try to place them in the right lighting context and involve them in mini sessions of 15 minutes. This way, there’s always time to enjoy the various phases of the celebration, and the complete service feels light.
